Pianist, conductor, composer and writer Joanna MacGregor performs in the second series of very special Dome Concert Hall recitals. The series, which began with Radu Lapu (Oct 09) and continues later this year with Imogen Cooper, spotlights major figures on the international scene.
MacGregor is one of the world's most wide-ranging and influential music-makers. As a concert pianist she has worked with such eminent figures as Pierre Boulez, Sir Simon Rattle and Sir Colin Davis, and has premiered landmark works from Django Bates to John Adams. A restless innovator, she has continued to break down musical barriers throughout her career, including cross-genre collaborations with Brian Eno, Nitin Sawhney and, at this year's London Jazz Festival, virtuoso oud player Dhafer Youssef.
For this concert she presents a typically colourful programme that crosses centuries, continents and cultures.
