Preston Park Tavern

Owners Andrew and Helen Coggings love food and what you get at the Preston Park Tavern is good honest food prepared with skill and passion by their team of talented chefs using the finest of Sussex produce. As the kitchen is open, you can witness the fascinating bustle of busy chefs hard at work.

The concise yet diverse wine list offers over 20 wines and champagne by the glass as well as the bottle and if you’re not sure which wine to choose, they are happy to offer you a drop of a couple to taste before you make up your mind!

Menus change slightly each day but at lunchtime you will generally find beautiful home-made soup, a choice of four sandwiches served on home-made focaccia or organic granary bread and their amazing Sussex beef burgers, tomato relish & hand-cut chips. Other main courses include dishes such as prosciutto wrapped haddock fillet, sauteed potatoes, wilted spinach and there are always two vegetarian main courses too.

Evening menus include dishes such as char-grilled rump steak, hand-cut chips, béarnaise butter, confit duck leg, dauphinoise potatoes, buttered spring greens, fig jus and pan-fried seabass, potato rosti, buttered samphire, roquette.

Children are well catered for at this family friendly pub where there is a special menu with choices such as home-made free-range chicken goujons with hand-cut chips, a drink and dessert.

Beautifully prepared roast meals are served on Sundays from 12 noon to 6pm. With superb Sussex reared meats, a vegetarian & fish option as well as small portions for children it’s hard to find a reason not to visit!
