You never know who you might meet in The Parlour, the café located within the beautiful Theatre Royal Brighton, a grade II listed building situated at the heart of the city’s vibrant cultural quarter.
The Parlour, with its beautiful stained glass window and vintage crockery, serves a selection of teas, freshly ground coffee, pastries, cakes and snacks. The perfect place to people watch or peruse the Theatre’s impressive programme of top quality drama, comedy, West End musicals, opera and ballet.
The Theatre, one of the oldest and most renowned working theatres in the country, first opened in 1807 when the Prince Regent, an enthusiastic theatregoer, granted its Royal Charter. Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, Marlene Dietrich, Margot Fonteyn, Rex Harrison, Judi Dench and Paul Scofield are among those who have performed on its famous stage.
The Parlour, which has revitalised a previously unused part of this much loved building, will help to ensure that Theatre Royal Brighton continues to thrive throughout its third century of entertaining audiences of all ages.
